The Penobscot Valley Kennel Club brings dog lovers their annual AKC Sanctioned Breed, Obedience and Rally-O Match. Join the fun on Sunday, September 29 at the beautiful Bangor Waterfront starting at 10:00 a.m. - outdoors, rain or shine. Dogs and their owners of all experience levels will have a chance to strut their stuff. The event is great for the whole family with free admission.

President Mary Jane Platt of the PVKC says, “Not only is this a fun activity for families but it is the perfect place to talk to breed experts about topics such as training, grooming and the right breed for your lifestyle.”.

Spectators can meet and greet a variety of different dog breeds, learn about responsible dog ownership and speak with breeders, owners and handlers. Watch the judging of various breeds in Conformation and cheer for your favorite. See puppies getting started in the sport in the 6-12 Month Puppy Competition. Obedience and rally trials will test dogs’ understanding of commands, as they maneuver hurdles & retrieve articles.

People of all experience levels are invited to enter. The PVKC match is fun for all ages and a great opportunity to practice your skills and training in an informal and educational dog show environment. Entry fees are $8 per dog and you may enter on the day of show from 8:30 a.m. to shortly before judging begins for your event.

Conformation classes are open to all intact purebreds. Obedience and Rally classes are open to both mixed breeds and purebreds..Obedience Classes include: Utility A/B, Open A/B, Novice A/B, Beginner Novice A/B. Rally-O classes include:: Novice A/B, Intermediate, Advanced A/B, Excellent A/B.
